Governor Uba Sani on Wednesday hosted an extraordinary joint security meeting of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and the Northern Traditional Leaders Council at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House in Kaduna, bringing together key political, traditional and security stakeholders to discuss the region’s security challenges.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, while the Northern Traditional Leaders were led by Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III.
Also in attendance were representatives of the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, the Inspector General of Police, and the Director General of the Department of State Services, reflecting the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing security concerns in Northern Nigeria.

The high-level meeting also attracted former Inspectors General of Police, retired military, police and paramilitary officers from across the North, as well as former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation.
Participants are expected to deliberate on the prevailing security situation in the region and explore practical strategies aimed at strengthening collaboration between state governments, traditional institutions and security agencies to improve peace, stability and public safety across Northern Nigeria.
