UNICEF has stated that there are ‘no safe zones’ anywhere in Gaza as the Israeli military surrounds the Jabalia refugee camp, the largest in Gaza with an area of 1.4 square kilometers (0.8 miles).
The camp, established after the 1948 war, now houses more than 116,011 registered refugees, as confirmed by the UN’s agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also warned that the situation is getting ‘worse by the hour.’
At the moment, the spokesperson for the Hamas-run Gaza health ministry, Ashraf al-Qudra, mentioned that there are no lifesaving health services in the hospitals of the southern Gaza Strip, which have been partially evacuated.
‘Hospitals… have totally collapsed, and [medical staff] cannot deal with the quantity and quality of injuries that arrive at the hospitals,’ he said.
He confirmed that 43 dead bodies were brought to the hospital this morning alone.
However, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, told Gulf leaders that while Qatar is constantly working to renew the agreement between Israel and Hamas to alleviate the burden on our people in the Gaza Strip, truces are not an alternative for a comprehensive ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military claims that they located more than 800 Hamas tunnel shafts in their raid, and 500 of them were destroyed.
*Since the beginning of the war, 15,899 people have lost their lives in Gaza.
