National Leader of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has declared that President Bola Tinubu has failed in his primary responsibility of protecting Nigerians, citing the worsening insecurity across the country as evidence of what he described as a tactical failure of leadership.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News monitored by The News Chronicle, Baba-Ahmed said the President’s handling of security challenges had been so poor that the PRP was justified in calling for his resignation.
According to him, no part of the country is spared from the growing wave of violence, kidnappings and criminal attacks.
“Every inch of Nigeria is now vulnerable to insecurity. In a civilised democracy, President Tinubu’s record on insecurity would have cost him his seat a long time ago. It is not too late to say President Tinubu should go,” he said.
The PRP chieftain further argued that if Nigerians fully assessed the administration’s performance on security, they would not have to wait until the 2027 general election to remove him from office.
“We took a measured position in the PRP by saying President Tinubu should resign. We are not safe under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Do we have to wait until more and more children are kidnapped?” he queried.
