No NIN No mobilization, NYSC informs potential corps members

—

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a new requirement starting from the 2024 mobilization exercise.

All eligible prospective corps members are now expected to register for mobilization using their National Identification Numbers (NIN).

This decision emerged from a meeting held in Abuja between the National Identification Management Commission (NIMC) administration, headed by Director General Abisoye Coker-Odusote, and the NYSC management, led by Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed.

Brigadier General Ahmed shared that the collaboration with NIMC on corps mobilization would enhance the online NYSC registration process.

He also highlighted the significant improvement brought about by the introduction of the NYSC Integrated System in 2014, which has greatly facilitated the scheme’s mobilization procedures.

During the meeting, NIMC’s Director General, Coker-Odusote, expressed the commission’s readiness to work closely with both agencies.

She commended NYSC’s mobilization procedures and its commendable efforts spanning over 50 years in molding corps members for leadership roles.

The NIMC head emphasized that this synergy would address various challenges and streamline the mobilization process as a whole.

This collaborative effort aims to make the registration process more efficient and enhance the overall experience for prospective corps members.

Essentially, the collaboration between NYSC and NIMC reflects a joint endeavor to utilize technology and well-established methods to enhance the mobilization process, aiming for a more streamlined and hassle-free experience for everyone engaged in the process.

This partnership seeks to leverage advancements in technology and the implementation of proven procedures to optimize the entire mobilization journey, making it more efficient and user-friendly for all individuals involved.
