Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has dismissed claims of irregularities in the just-concluded APC primaries in the state, insisting that no aspirant was short-changed in the process that produced him as the party’s senatorial flagbearer.
Speaking during an interview on AriseNews monitored by The News Chronicle, Suswam described direct primaries as the true test of an aspirant’s popularity and grassroots acceptance.
The former governor maintained that complaints are common in every election cycle but stressed that the APC primaries in Benue were conducted in line with due process and established guidelines.
According to him, the exercise was transparent and fairly conducted, adding that all aspirants were given a level playing field throughout the process.
