Suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has rubbished the allegation of financial recklessness levelled against him.
Countering the allegation, he disclosed that the accounts of the CBN for 2013 were audited while those of the NNPC since 2005 had not been audited.
Speaking about his suspension, he said, “The Central bank is an independent institution, there is a section of the act that says the president cannot remove the governor without two-thirds of the senate.
“There was a reason for that section. You cannot go round that section by saying I’m not removing you, I’m suspending you”, he added.
