NNPC Denies Selling Employment Slots 

In a stern warning, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC Ltd.) has debunked rumors of employment slots being sold, calling out fraudsters who prey on unsuspecting job applicants. 

The company categorically denied offering employment opportunities in exchange for payment, emphasizing that recruitment processes are transparent and merit-based.

Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd., issued a statement on August 17, 2024, in Abuja, cautioning the public against falling victim to such scams. The company stressed that anyone who pays for a job does so at their own risk, as NNPC Ltd. will not be held responsible for fraudulent activities.

“The company states that there is no iota of truth in the insinuations that it has employment slots on offer to anyone who wishes to buy, describing such as antics of fraudsters who want to take advantage of unsuspecting applicants.”

It cautions that as a responsible corporate entity, recruitment into the company is a straightforward process and does not involve the sale of slots or inducement of any kind.”

“It warns that anyone who pays money to anyone for any job in the company does so at his or her own risk,” the statement said.
