The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast thunderstorms and rainfall across several parts of Nigeria on Thursday, May 7, warning residents to prepare for strong winds, lightning, and reduced visibility.
According to the agency, northern states including Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, and southern Borno are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms later in the day after sunny morning conditions.
In the North Central region, thunderstorms with light rainfall are expected over the Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Plateau, Nasarawa, and Niger.
Southern states including Lagos, Rivers, Delta, and Cross River are expected to witness widespread thunderstorms and moderate rainfall.
NiMet advised residents to secure loose objects, avoid exposure during lightning, and drive carefully due to slippery roads and reduced visibility during rainfall.
