Nigeria’s UN representative pays a visit to Zulum, reinforcing support for Borno

—

The United Nations announced on Monday its continued commitment to providing assistance to Borno State in Nigeria to aid in the recovery efforts from the extensive damage caused by the activities of Boko Haram militants spanning the past decade.

The United Nations reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the region in rebuilding infrastructure, restoring essential services, and facilitating the return to normalcy for affected communities.

This ongoing support underscores the collective efforts of the international community to address the complex challenges faced by regions impacted by conflict and terrorism, with a focus on promoting stability, peace, and development.

Mohammed Mustapha Malik Fall, who works for the United Nations in Nigeria, visited the Government House in Maiduguri to say this.

He mentioned that Borno State has made progress in bringing peace and development to areas affected by the crisis.

He praised Governor Zulum for his work in improving the lives of people in Borno.

“I’m here to support you and your plans,” Mr. Fall said. “The UN is here to understand what you need and help you achieve it. You can count on us to support every step you take to make life better for the people of Borno.”

Mr. Fall has worked in development and peacebuilding for over 20 years. He just started his new job in Nigeria.

Governor Zulum thanked Mr. Fall for visiting and for his past work with UNICEF in Nigeria.

“We promised to help the displaced people return to their homes safely,” Zulum said.

“We are committed to working with the UN to provide both humanitarian aid and development projects to the people of Borno State.”
