The House of Representatives’ Committee on Media and Public Affairs Chairman, Zakari Mohammed has said that Nigeria’s new constitution will be ready by July.
He said that the delay experienced in the preparation of the new constitution was due to wide consultation and meticulous crafting.
Mr. Mohammed said, “But we are looking at the month of June or July as when we are going to have a clean copy of the new constitution for Nigeria.
“For what we did in the House of Representatives, we went to the 360 Federal Constituencies and, as much as possible, we were able to gather the views of the people”, he added
“What we have reported is exactly what we pushed forward for them, and what we are saying is that at the end of the day, we are going to have a constitution that is workable for the Nigerian People”, he concluded.
