Nigeria’s Economy Showing Signs of Recovery under Tinubu -Rep. Oseni

The lawmaker representing the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Remi Oseni, says the reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu are beginning to yield positive results across various sectors of the economy.

Oseni stated this while addressing traders and supporters at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday in Ibadan.

He acknowledged that Nigeria had yet to achieve full economic recovery but said the administration had recorded notable progress, with early signs of improved economic performance and renewed investor confidence.

The lawmaker urged Nigerians to remain optimistic, saying greater transformation was expected during the President’s second term.

Oseni, who is the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District, said the meeting was part of efforts to strengthen party structures, engage grassroots stakeholders and mobilise support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said the engagement also provided an opportunity to listen to the concerns of residents, especially traders, and discuss measures to improve their welfare.

“We decided to meet our traders in marketplaces under the Oyo South Senatorial District to engage them on ways to improve their welfare.

“We also discussed how to mitigate the challenges they are currently facing as individuals and as leaders in the marketplaces,” he said.

Oseni said the party remained committed to delivering the dividends of democracy, adding that the welfare of his constituents remained a priority.

Defending the administration’s policies, he said some reforms might appear slow but had produced significant outcomes in areas including education, taxation, health and agriculture.

He cited the student loan scheme, tax reforms, removal of fuel subsidy, cancer screening initiatives, subsidised healthcare programmes and agricultural support schemes as examples of government interventions.

“The reforms introduced by the President may appear slow, but those who understand how government works will appreciate that much has been achieved,” he said.

Oseni described the Renewed Hope Agenda as deliberate and results-oriented, urging party members to remain united and actively engage at the grassroots to consolidate support ahead of 2027.
