Nigerian Ports Authority Donates N200 Million to Borno for Flood Relief, Pledges Further Assistance

The Executive Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), led by Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar, Executive Director of Engineering and Technical Services and a native of Borno State, visited Maiduguri to express their sympathies to the Borno State Government and the residents of Maiduguri and Jere, on Saturday.

The purpose of the visit was to offer support following the devastating flood that has severely affected lives and property in the region.

Engr. Umar, alongside the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, the Executive Director of Marine and Operations, and other key technical staff of the NPA, presented a significant donation of N200 million.

This contribution is aimed at assisting those impacted by the flood disaster in Borno State, particularly in Maiduguri and Jere.

The NPA management team was warmly welcomed by the Governor of Borno State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, who received the donation on behalf of the people.

In his response, Governor Zulum expressed profound gratitude to the NPA for their continued efforts and unwavering support during this challenging period of loss and devastation.

He acknowledged the generous contribution and commended the NPA for standing with the state in its time of need.

Governor Zulum also praised the leadership of Engr. Ibrahim Abba Umar for his role in ensuring that the NPA remains committed to aiding Borno during these trying times.

The NPA management team has promised that this donation is just the beginning, as they plan to do more to alleviate the suffering caused by the flood and help restore normalcy to the lives of the affected communities.
