Dorcas Adeyinka, a UK-based blogger has been declared wanted by the Nigerian Police Force on the grounds of cyber-stalking, abduction, murder, injurious falsehood, threat to life, and extortion.Â
The declaration was made through a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit, Abuja.
According to the bulletin, the allegations against Adeyinka suggest a pattern of online harassment, physical violence, and involvement in serious crimes.
Described as a Yoruba woman approximately 1.64 meters tall, Adeyinka has distinctive tribal marks and other identifiable features, including an oval face, pointed nose, and prominent chin. Her last known address is listed as 833 Woolick Road in the United Kingdom, but it is believed that she frequents several areas within Nigeria, including Ikeja, Ogudu, Fagba, Otta, and Sango in Lagos and Ogun states.
The Nigerian Police Force urged the public to assist in locating Adeyinka, promising a handsome reward for any information leading to her arrest. In a statement, they emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against her and urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement efforts.
In a related development, following a criminal complaint filed by Adeyinka’s lawyers, accusing the defendants of posting her nude photos online, and subjecting her to ridicule and harassment, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, a Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, summoned two social media users, Tolulope Adeoye, aka Abike Jagaban, and Tolulope Odegbami, aka Olowosibi, for allegedly defaming Adeyinka.
Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna ordered the defendants to appear in person before the court on June 4, 2024, to answer the charges leveled against them.
