Nigerian Army Rescues 330 Women and Children in Borno State

—

Troops from Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 330 women and children from the Bama and Pulka General areas.
Among the rescued individuals, 110 are women, including some elderly, and 220 are children. These individuals were handed over to the Borno State Government on Monday.
This recent rescue operation brings the total number of women and children rescued by Operation Hadin Kai troops to 607 in the past two weeks.
This achievement highlights the Nigerian military’s ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the region.
Aisha Shettima, the Director of Social Welfare, received the rescued individuals on behalf of the Borno State Government.
She expressed her gratitude towards the Nigerian military, stating, “I commend the Nigerian military for their vigilance and efforts in rescuing these women and children. We pray for them to rescue more.”
The rescued women and children are being taken to the Bulumkutu Rehabilitation Centre. Here, they will receive comprehensive support, including psychosocial assistance, family tracing, educational programs, and other forms of aid to help them reintegrate into their communities.
Aisha Shettima emphasized the state government’s commitment to providing a thorough support program for the survivors, saying, “This support aims to help the survivors rebuild their lives and reintegrate into their communities.”
The handover event took place at the Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri and marks a significant milestone in the efforts to rescue and rehabilitate women and children affected by insurgency in the region.
