Nigerian Army Neutralizes Two Terrorists, Arrests Criminal Suspect in Kaduna and Plateau States

The Nigerian Army has announced the elimination of two terrorists and the arrest of an armed criminal suspect during recent preemptive operations carried out by its troops.

These operations also led to the seizure of a significant amount of arms and ammunition.

In a statement released on its social media platform on Thursday, the Army detailed the operations that took place on Wednesday.

According to the statement, troops acted on credible intelligence regarding terrorist activities and subsequently conducted an ambush in the vicinity of Kwana Uri village, located in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Army reported that a fierce gunfight erupted between the troops and the terrorists during the operation.

As a result, two of the terrorists were neutralized, while the remaining members of the group managed to flee into nearby bushes.

Following the encounter, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, 288 rounds of RG55 ammunition, 40 rounds of CJ 95 ammunition, six rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, a Baofeng communication radio, and a motorcycle, all of which were left behind by the fleeing terrorists.

In a separate operation conducted in Plateau State, the troops arrested a suspected criminal in Ganawuri village, located in the Riyom Local Government Area.

The Army revealed that the suspect was found in possession of a fabricated automatic rifle, which he was carrying illegitimately.
The Nigerian Army emphasized that these operations, which led to the elimination of two terrorists, the recovery of a substantial cache of ammunition, and the proactive arrest of an armed criminal suspect, demonstrate its unwavering commitment to addressing the security challenges facing the country.
The Army reiterated its resolve to continue its efforts to restore peace in the troubled regions of Nigeria.
