Nigerian Army Eliminate Bandit Leader Dangote, Dismantle ISWAP Terrorists Hideout in Yobe

The 145 Battalion Army in Damasak, with support from the Nigerian and Niger Air components, has successfully ousted ISWAP strongholds around Bulaburin in Yobe State.

During this operation, one terrorist was taken down, a gun truck was demolished, and numerous weapons were seized.

The courageous troops exhibited remarkable valor, effectively dismantling the terrorist camp as the remnants scattered in different directions.

In a related incident, a deadly clash erupted in Zamfara State, resulting in the demise of two notorious bandit leaders, Sani Dangote and Lamo Saude, along with 38 other terrorists.

The confrontation unfolded on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Dumburum Village in Zurmi Local Government Area.

Intelligence sources, briefed by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency media expert, disclosed that the clash ignited late afternoon when Sani Dangote and Lamo Saude launched a fresh assault on Gwaska Dankarami’s camp.

This clash, rooted in the killing of Dangote’s younger brother, nicknamed “Mallam,” by Dankarami, escalated swiftly despite Dankarami’s attempts at reconciliation.

Dankarami’s invitation to Dangote, unbeknownst to him, was a ploy for an attack. In the ensuing fierce gun battle, Dankarami reportedly emerged victorious, overpowering the opposing faction and neutralizing its leaders. He also seized their weaponry and motorcycles, prompting the remaining fighters to flee.

Meanwhile, suspected ISWAP terrorists executed a daring ambush, seizing a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to CADEV, an NGO affiliated with CRS (Catholic Relief Services), over the weekend.

The NGO, engaged in humanitarian aid and refugee assistance in Niger Republic, fell victim to the attack between Gargada and Gagamari, along the Diffa-Maine Soroa road.

Tragically, the assailants opened fire during the ambush, resulting in the driver’s death. Another staff member sustained gunshot wounds but remains in stable condition.

Tracking data revealed the vehicle’s relocation across the border into Yobe State, Nigeria, an area identified as an ISWAP stronghold by intelligence sources.

This incident underscores the perilous environment faced by humanitarian organizations operating in conflict zones.

The loss of the vehicle disrupts critical aid delivery efforts, particularly for vulnerable populations, primarily Nigerian refugees in Niger Republic.
