Nigerian Army Eliminate 7 Terrorists in Borno, Recover GPMG and Ammunition Belt

The Nigerian Army, along with the Hybrid Force and the Civilian Joint Task Force, made significant progress in their counter-terrorism operations in the North East, On Saturday.

Acting on reliable intelligence regarding terrorist movements, the troops set up an ambush in the Lawanti area. In the ensuing firefight, they neutralized six terrorists.

After winning the gun battle, the troops recovered a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and 40 rounds of 7.62 x 51 mm belted ammunition.

In another operation, the troops, following actionable intelligence, set up an ambush at a known terrorist crossing point near Shetimari, Sabon-Gari, and the Amarwa Bulamari Exchange Point in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.

They engaged the terrorists, neutralizing one, while the others fled, The troops are currently pursuing the fleeing terrorists.

The morale of the Nigerian Army remains high as they continue their efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of the region and other troubled areas of the country.

The public is encouraged to cooperate with the troops as they work to protect citizens from the nation’s adversaries.

According to sector Commander “We urge members of the public to continue to cooperate with the troops, as they conduct their operations to protect the citizenry against the nation’s adversaries.”
