The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has started the zonal General Aptitude Test for the 2025 Basic Military Training Course 46 recruitment exercise, with more than 20,000 applicants taking part across the country.
The test is being held at 15 zonal centres located in Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt and Ikeja.
According to the NAF, the wide distribution of centres is to ensure fairness, inclusiveness and equal opportunity for qualified Nigerians from all parts of the country.
The large turnout shows the continued confidence of Nigerian youths in the Nigerian Air Force as a disciplined and professional institution.
It also reflects the NAF’s effort to recruit capable, committed and physically fit young Nigerians, especially at a time when the country needs stronger manpower to support internal security operations and national defence.

Speaking on the exercise, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, said the recruitment process is based on fairness, integrity and strict standards.
He stressed that only the best candidates will be selected on merit, noting that the quality of personnel is vital to the effectiveness of the Air Force.
Air Marshal Aneke added that the aptitude test is an important step in building a motivated and ready force, and reassured Nigerians of the NAF’s commitment to supporting internal security operations and protecting lives and property in line with its constitutional duties
