Nigerian Afropop Singer Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade has chided the Lagos state government over the demolition of houses in the Mende area of the state.

Recall that over the weekend, the state Ministry of Environment and Water Resources under the Lagos State Government demolished the houses on the grounds that they were built on the drainage system of the state.

On Sunday 5 May, the singer took to social media to share a video criticizing the Sanwu-Olu-led administration in the state for the action saying that the different demolitions are ruining the real estate value of Lagos and Nigeria.

In a series of tweets posted online, Yemi said the state government is giving Nigerians reasons not to invest in Lagos real estate.

In her post, she urged the Lagos state government to at least start refunding affected legal buyers the monies paid to the state government when purchasing their land.
