Nigeria on Edge as AANI Slams Govt Over Worsening Insecurity

The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has raised alarm over the escalating wave of kidnappings and violent attacks nationwide, warning that the deteriorating security climate has become intolerable and traumatic for citizens.

In a statement issued by its President, Amb. Emmanuel Okafor, the association lamented the unending cycle of assaults, abductions and terror that has continued to plunge Nigerians into fear and suffering.

Okafor extended heartfelt sympathy to families and communities currently grappling with the aftermath of the attacks, assuring them that AANI stands firmly with them during what it described as a painful and troubling moment for the country.

He called on both federal and state authorities, alongside security agencies, to urgently ramp up intelligence-led operations, overhaul existing strategies and take bolder steps to rescue abducted victims and safeguard communities.

“AANI calls for urgent, coordinated and decisive action toward the safe rescue of all abducted Nigerians.

“National security remains a collective responsibility. We are ready to partner with government and security institutions to develop sustainable solutions to the country’s security challenges.”

He stressed that the protection of Nigerians must be treated as a national priority, insisting that only renewed political will and stronger collaboration can restore stability and rebuild public trust.
