Nigeria has a big problem with electricity. The government says more than 100 million people in Nigeria don’t have good electricity, even though the government spent a lot of money, over N5 trillion, to try to fix it in the past few years.

Olu Verhejen, who advises President Bola Tinubu on energy, said that having good electricity is important for the country’s economy to grow. But because electricity is not reliable, it’s hard for businesses to work well and make money.

The government is trying to fix the main problems so that more people can have electricity.

A group of government agencies is working together to make new rules and plans to give more people electricity and to help businesses use it better.

The government is also trying to make sure that when people use electricity, they pay for it properly. This will help make sure there’s enough money to keep everything working well.

The Power Minister, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, said that everyone needs to work together to fix the electricity problem. It’s not just the government’s job; everyone has to help.

There are some good things happening, though. A big new power plant called Zungeru Hydropower will start making electricity soon, and another one called Kashimbilla Hydro is also being built.

The government is also making deals to get enough gas to run the power plants, so they can make more electricity.

Senator George Akume said that the government will make sure that a new bank called Africa Energy Bank will have its main office in Nigeria. This could help bring more money into the country to help with electricity.

Fixing Nigeria’s electricity problem is not easy. It needs everyone to work together to make sure everyone has enough electricity, and it’s something the government is really focused on fixing.
