Niger State Govt in talks with Chinese firm for state-wide railway network

—

The government of Niger State wants to work with a big company from China called the China Railway Corporation to build a big railway system all over the state.

Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo, who works closely with the Governor, said this on his official social media account.

He talked about a meeting where the Governor and some people from the China Railway Corporation discussed the idea of working together.

They talked about making a railway system that goes through three big areas in Niger State and even connects to Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria.

They also talked about improving things at the Bola Tinubu International Airport in Minna, like making better places for airplanes and passengers. They even talked about working together on farming and building houses in the state.

To make sure this partnership happens, the people from China are going to write down some plans and agreements.

They’ll make a Concept Note and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to show how they will work together.

They’re thinking about getting money from a bank in China called the China Exim Bank to pay for these projects.

This is all meant to make things better in Niger State by making it easier for people to travel and do business.
