The All progressives Congress, APC, Wednesday adopted Senator Chris Ngige as its candidate in the Anambra governorship election billed for November.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, who announced the name of the senator as the preferred choice of APC, said the adoption was done at the first interactive meeting of the elders and leaders of the party which took place at the Sheraton Hotel.
The Party also, during the meeting inaugurated its Interim Executive Committee (IEC), headed by Chief Bisi Akande
In his welcome address during the inauguration, the APC Interim National Chairman said the “philosophy underpinning the coming into being of the APC is the determination to bring the country back from the brink of collapse, despair, and possible disintegration.”
The Party Chair also noted that the essence of the meeting was to truly unveil its identity to Nigerians. .
“Today’s occasion therefore is to commence that process of sensitising our members and millions of supporters all over the country on who we are and what we stand for, as a party that represents and champions the aspirations of most Nigerian citizens,” he said.
