NFF to Open Discussions With Keshi Over New Contract

he Nigeria Football Federation yesterday set up a three-man Technical Sub-Committee to negotiate with Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi on the possibility of extending his contract with the Nigeria national team.

The Committee comprising of the chairman of the NFF Technical Committee chairman Barrister Chris Green, Felix Anyasi Agwu and Ayodeji is expected to open channels of communication with Coach Keshi with a view to extending his contract, as the NFF is still interested in working with him.
Acting President of the NFF Chief Mike Umeh said yesterday that the committee has been given a week to conclude discussions and report to the Executive Committee for a final decision on the matter.

Umeh also revealed that the Executive Committee has mandated the NFF management to proceed with discussions with a number of African countries with a view organising friendly matches for the Super Eagles during the FIFA window of Wednesday, August 13 as part of preparations for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
He equally expressed the board’s satisfaction with the arrangements so far made for the different national teams ahead of important international matches and qualifying games.
