NFF offer Jose Peseiro three days to accept a pay cut or resign as Super Eagles coach

Peseiro, Good Riddance To Bad Rubbish

The Nigeria Football Federation through its Technical Committee has revealed that Super Eagles’ head coach, Jose Peseiro has been offered three days grace to accept a pay cut from his current salary of $70,000 or cut ties with the senior men’s team.

Peseiro’s 12-month contract with NFF expired a few months ago and there’s now a new prerequisite to renewing the contract if he so wishes.

According to the report, Jose may not align with NFF’s new proposal, and if that happens, the  Federation will appoint an interim coach who will guide the Super Eagles in their second game against Sao Tome in Uyo before searching for the Portuguese’s replacement.

According to NFF as shared by Complete Sports:

“The Technical Committee has given him [Peseiro] three days to respond to our proposed pay cut or we will disengage him finally. We will allow him to continue if he accepts a reduction in his 70,000 USD monthly salary and other conditions of service.

“If he turns down our proposal, we will consider appointing a coach to oversee the dead rubber game against Sao Tome and Principe in Uyo, then we start to search for a new substantive coach that the NFF can afford to pay his salary.”
