NFF Denies Report of Unpaid Bonuses and Allowances

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports claiming that Super Eagles players have not received their bonuses and allowances from the funds approved by the Presidency to settle all outstanding payments.

The NFF expressed disapproval of the online publication, clarifying that all owed bonuses and allowances have been paid to the Super Eagles players, with the payments following proper procedures.

Describing the allegations as “tissues of lies,” the Federation challenged the writer to provide evidence to support his claims:

“The report is absolutely false in every way, and we challenge the website owner and writer to present proof of their claims. We want them to name the players who allegedly spoke to them, because these are all tissues of lies.

“Players and officials of the Super Eagles have been paid for all matches played at the AFCON, yet he claimed the team was paid for only three matches. His outrageous claim that the team is owed for 25 matches is the biggest lie ever concocted by any writer.”

The NFF also refuted the writer’s claims, stating that only members of the NFF Board and Secretariat staff have received their outstanding allowances from the funds released by the Presidency.

The NFF contacted several senior players, whose identities were not disclosed, to provide further insight into the writer’s false allegations:

“This story is a shame. No player of the Super Eagles spoke to the writer. It is all pure fabrication,” a senior player told thenff.com.

Another senior official of the Super Eagles added: “The story is absolute bunkum. People should make an effort to verify whatever they hear from anywhere before going to the press. It is clear that this writer did not even hear anything; he simply made up something from his own imagination.”
