NEYIF plans to involve various groups, including mothers, youth, and the elderly, in regular farming activities, micro-gardening, and demonstration farms across five selected wards within Yunusari.

In addition to enhancing agricultural productivity, the project has a strong nutritional component aimed at improving the well-being of malnourished children through the introduction of Tom Brown, a locally-made nutritional supplement.

Pregnant and lactating mothers, along with caregivers, will also benefit from this initiative as the project seeks to address the nutritional needs of vulnerable groups in the region.

During the visit, the NEYIF delegation was warmly received by Dr. Mohammed Goje, the Executive Secretary of YOSEMA, who was represented by Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Jalo, Director of Research and Rescue.

Dr. Jalo described the visit as a “homecoming,” acknowledging NEYIF’s long-standing contributions to the well-being of the people of Yobe State.

He expressed the state government’s appreciation for the organization’s efforts and assured them of full support in making the project a success.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Deputy Project Manager (DPM), Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief of Staff on Diaspora to the Executive Secretary, and other staff members of YOSEMA.

The partnership between NEYIF and YOSEMA is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing food security and addressing malnutrition in Yunusari, ultimately improving the lives of the local population.
