Newly employed teachers in Borno are  dissatisfied due to non-payment of their salaries

Newly recruited teachers in Borno State are expressing dissatisfaction due to the non-payment of their monthly salaries. According to reports from some of these educators, despite being listed on the board, their names are conspicuously absent from the payroll.

A prevailing concern among these teachers is the apparent discrepancy between the official list and the supplementary list.

Those individuals fortunate enough to find their names appended to the supplementary list have reported receiving their rightful payments.

However, for those not included in this supplementary category, the unfortunate reality persists – they have yet to receive their due remuneration.

This discrepancy has led to frustration and financial strain for the affected teachers, as they grapple with the uncertainty surrounding the reasons behind their exclusion from the payroll.

The issue seems to center around a bureaucratic hurdle, with the disparity between the main list and the supplementary list causing confusion and hindering the timely distribution of salaries.

This situation raises questions about the administrative processes in place for salary disbursement in Borno State and underscores the need for a swift resolution to ensure that all deserving teachers receive their salaries promptly.

It is crucial for the relevant authorities to address these concerns and rectify the apparent oversight, ensuring that the educational workforce is duly compensated for their services in a timely and efficient manner.

In December 2022, the Borno State Government initiated a teacher recruitment process by launching an online portal.

Following this recruitment drive, there were allegations from certain citizens asserting that the management was involved in selling the available teaching positions.

This raised concerns and prompted discussions within the community regarding the transparency and fairness of the recruitment process conducted by the state government.
