Netflix has raised its subscription fees in Nigeria, effective immediately.
The cost of the Premium Plan has jumped from ₦5,000 to ₦7,000 per month, reflecting a 40% increase.
The Standard Plan has also seen a significant increase, climbing from ₦4,000 to ₦5,500, which represents a 37.5% rise.
In contrast, the Basic Plan remains unchanged at ₦2,900.
This latest adjustment follows a previous increase in April 2024 and forms part of Netflix’s broader global strategy to revise subscription fees.
The company’s decision to raise prices is aimed at boosting its revenue and supporting the expansion of its content library.
As streaming services continue to compete in a rapidly evolving market, Netflix’s price hikes are intended to strengthen its financial position and enable further investment in original programming and user experience enhancements.
Subscribers are likely to feel the impact of these changes, which align with a trend of increasing subscription costs across various streaming platforms.
