NEMA starts distribution of relief items to Internally Displaced Persons in Plateau

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) North Central Zonal Office in Plateau recently started giving out relief materials to people affected by a recent fight in Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau.

The things they gave out include food and other stuff people need.

Mr. Bashir Idris Garga, who works as the North Central Zonal Director of the Agency, spoke at the event.

He represented the big boss, Director General Mustapha Habib Ahmed. Mr. Garga said it’s very sad and not good at all how Mangu has become because of the fight.

He also said that no one should ever take another person’s life, no matter what’s happening.

Mr. Garga explained that the things they’re giving out won’t make up for all the things people lost in the fight. But it’s supposed to help them feel better and lessen the bad effects of the fight.

He promised that everyone affected by the fight, no matter their tribe or religion, will get something. He also asked them to work for peace and unity so Mangu can be good again.

The Chairman of the Management Committee and the Local Government chairman, Mr. Markus Artu, said thank you to NEMA for all the help they’ve given since the fight started.

Mr. Sunday Abdu, who is the Executive Secretary of Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (PLASEMA), also said thank you to NEMA for helping the state since it was started. He promised to keep working closely with NEMA to help more.
