The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Kano Office, in partnership with the Kano State Emergency Management Agency, has provided relief materials to families affected by recent flooding in Rimin Gado, Dawakin Tofa, and Tofa areas of Kano State.
The distribution was carried out with support from the Member of the House of Representatives for the constituency to ensure that the most affected households received help.
According to NEMA, affected families were given essential food items including rice, maize, beans, vegetable oil, salt, seasoning cubes, and tomatoes to ease the hardship caused by the flood.
A representative of the Federal House of Representatives thanked NEMA for its quick response, saying the support would greatly assist the affected families.
Beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude to the Federal Government, NEMA, and the Representative, praying for continued protection from future disasters and promising to work with authorities in reducing disaster risks.
NEMA noted that the exercise was conducted peacefully and transparently with the help of SEMA officials and security personnel.
The relief effort is part of the Federal Government’s ongoing support to flood-affected communities across Kano State.
