NEMA distributes relief food baskets provided by King Salman in Katsina State

—

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has initiated the distribution of food baskets generously donated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) in Katsina State.
This initiative aims to provide crucial support to vulnerable individuals across Katsina and Borno States.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Farouk Lawal, who represented Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
Notably, similar distributions have already taken place in Kano, Katsina, and a camp in Maiduguri, Borno State.
During the event, the Deputy Governor conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Federal Government, particularly NEMA, for facilitating this much-needed assistance.
He also underscored the unwavering support received from the Federal Government during challenging times and extended appreciation to King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud for the generous aid extended to Nigeria and Katsina State.
NEMA’s Director General, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, who was represented by the North West Zonal Director Dr. Ishaya Isah Chonoko, emphasized the approval of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the distribution of 42,000 metric tonnes of food items from the National Strategic Grains Reserve to all 774 Local Government Areas.
This underscores the significance of KSrelief’s contribution in complementing the Federal Government’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the global economic challenges in Nigeria.
Following the flag-off ceremony by the Deputy Governor, the distribution process commenced, benefitting a total of 781 recipients in Katsina State.
This concerted effort reflects a collaborative endeavor aimed at alleviating the plight of those most in need within the community, demonstrating the power of international cooperation and humanitarian solidarity.
