The Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mrs. Zubaida Umar, has handed over relief materials to representatives of the Kaduna state government and the management of the Old Panteka Market in Kaduna.
This was done to support those affected by recent events at the market. The presentation was made on her behalf by NEMA North West Zonal Coordinator, Abbani Imam Garki.

The relief package includes a variety of food and non-food items includes 1,000 bags of rice (10kg each), 1,000 bags of beans (10kg each), 1,000 bags of maize (10kg each), 80 kegs of vegetable oil (20 liters each), 50 bags of salt (20kg each), 80 cartons of seasoning, 80 cartons of tomato paste (each containing 50 sachets), 26 packets of zinc nails, and 50 bundles of roofing sheets.

The handover ceremony was attended by several key officials, including the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Hon. Usman Hayatu Mazadu, the Chairman of the Old Panteka Market, Alh. Suleiman Shehu, his secretary Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar, and other government delegates.

During the presentation, the Director General expressed her sympathy for those affected by the incident.
She emphasized the importance of implementing preventive measures to reduce the risk of market fires and urged the market stakeholders to take necessary actions to avoid future occurrences, aiming for a lasting solution to the problem.
