NEDC Donates over N15M Medical Supplies to Borno Govt

The North East Development Commission has taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in Borno State by providing medical supplies valued at over 15 million naira to about 10 medical facilities.
This initiative aims to address the healthcare challenges resulting from the prolonged conflict in the region.
The Borno State government, recognizing the urgent need to improve healthcare access, has allocated 15% of its budget to the healthcare ministry, demonstrating a commitment to bridging the existing gaps in the sector.
The medical consumables, which include essential items for maternal healthcare, will be distributed to ten healthcare centers and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
Local government councils such as Mobbar, Monguno, Gubio, Kaga, Mafa, Bama, Jere, Biu, Gwoza, and Askira Uba will benefit from this initiative, ensuring that healthcare services reach communities across the state.
Beneficiaries of this support have expressed gratitude to the North East Development Commission for its timely intervention and have pledged to utilize the resources effectively for their intended purpose.
The Commission has reiterated its commitment to supporting the efforts of the state government in improving the healthcare sector and has promised to continue implementing intervention programs across the six states affected by the 13-year Boko Haram insurgency.
