NEDC Distributes Relief Items to Flood-Affected Communities in Yobe State

In a continued effort to support the most vulnerable communities affected by severe flooding in Yobe State, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has provided relief materials to the residents of Jajere in Fune Local Government Area (LGA) and Katarko in Gujba LGA, on Sunday.

The relief distribution includes both food and non-food items, aimed at helping these communities recover from the devastating impact of the floods.

The distributed items included: 200 bags of rice, 200 cartons of spaghetti/macaroni, 200 gallons of vegetable oil and 200 pieces of nylon mats.

This intervention is part of the NEDC’s broader strategy to address the growing humanitarian and economic challenges that have long plagued the North East region, a part of Nigeria that has been severely impacted by insurgency, poverty, and natural disasters like flooding.

The Executive Chairman of Fune Local Government, Hon. Bagoni Bade, spoke on behalf of the benefiting communities, expressing profound gratitude to the NEDC for its timely assistance.

He praised the commission for its dedication to improving the lives of people in the region, acknowledging the positive difference this intervention would make for the flood-affected communities.

The NEDC’s efforts to provide both immediate relief and long-term support continue to bring hope to vulnerable populations in the North East, as the commission remains committed to promoting recovery, resilience, and development in the region.
