NDLEA Seizes Massive Cocaine, Fentanyl, Meth, and Cannabis Across Nigeria

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted large consignments of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, morphine, and cannabis in multiple operations across Nigeria, including Lagos, Ekiti, Ondo, Benue, Edo, and Taraba states.
In Lagos, officers at Murtala Muhammed International Airport seized 5.8kg of cocaine concealed in the heads of imported dry stock fish, destined for Delhi, India. Three jumbo bags containing 237 wraps of the drug were recovered from 36-year-old syndicate kingpin Akputa Dickson Ejike.
NDLEA also intercepted shipments to the UK, recovering 1.9kg of methamphetamine hidden in automobile filters, along with 40 ampoules of morphine sulphate and nine ampoules of fentanyl at a courier company.
In separate raids, operatives arrested 46-year-old Omolade Abigail Jolayemi (“Iya Ghana”) and her accomplice in Yaba, Lagos, recovering 76.3kg of cannabis. Other cannabis seizures included 41kg from Anayo Lucky Ohabiro in Lagos, 116.7kg from Saater Nyam in Benue, and 576.5kg with 33 bottles of codeine syrup from Felix Donald in Edo. Taraba officers intercepted 135kg of compressed skunk concealed in animal feed.
In Ekiti state, an 80-year-old grandpa, Oke Samuel, was arrested with 2.2kg of skunk and methamphetamine, while 894.72kg of the same substance was seized from another suspect in Ondo.
NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) praised the officers for their efforts, highlighting the agency’s balanced approach to reducing both drug supply and demand. The agency also continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) awareness programs in schools across the country.
