NDLEA apprehends former lawmaker in possession of Indian hemp


The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency Adamawa Command says it has arrested a former lawmaker in possession of 81.9 kilogrammes of Cannabis Sativa (Indian hemp).

The state’s NDLEA Commander, Alhaji Hassan Zungeru said the suspect who was in the state assembly in 1992 has been charged to court.

The NDLEA State Commander said, “The suspect a former lawmaker is being prosecuted at the Federal High Court Yola”.

“Following the intelligence report of suspicious illicit activities by the ex-lawmaker, the agency after several months of monitoring, finally arrested him”, Zungeru added.

The former lawmaker was arrested with the exhibit in Jada town.

The commander praised the courts in Yola for their professional handling of drug related cases.
