National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu Mourns the Passing of Mother-in-Law Ummu Iya-Abubakar

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu is currently in mourning after the passing of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Ummu Iya-Abubakar.
 The sad news was confirmed in a statement released by the family on Tuesday morning, marking a deep personal loss for the NSA.
According to the family, Hajiya Ummu Iya-Abubakar passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
The statement, issued on behalf of Senator (Prof) Iya Abubakar and the family, expressed profound sorrow and submission to the will of Allah over the loss of their beloved matriarch.
“It is with a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah that we announce that Hajiya Ummu Iya Abubakar (Babba) has returned to her Creator in the early hours of Tuesday, 27 August 2024,” the family shared in their announcement.
The family also invited well-wishers and loved ones to join them in prayer for the deceased.
The Janaiza (funeral) prayers were scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. after Zuhr prayers at the Central Mosque in Abuja.
 Following the prayers, Hajiya Ummu Iya-Abubakar was to be laid to rest at the Gudu Cemetery.
The statement concluded with prayers for the deceased, asking for Allah’s mercy and blessings upon her soul. “May Allah SWT reward her for all her good deeds, forgive her sins, illuminate her grave, and grant her the highest of ranks in Jannah Al Firdaus. Ameen.”
This loss marks a solemn moment for the Ribadu and Abubakar families, as they come together to bid farewell to a cherished family member.
