Senator Natasha Osawaru, Deputy Majority Leader and lawmaker representing Edo State, subtly responded this week to public speculation about her marriage to musician Innocent Idibia, known professionally as 2Baba, after she appeared in recent photographs without her wedding ring.
Osawaru has regularly worn the ring in public appearances, and its absence drew comment from social media users, some of whom suggested it signalled difficulty in her marriage.
On Wednesday, Osawaru posted a photograph of herself with 2Baba on Instagram, accompanied by a message of support. Part of the caption read: “I love you for life my king.” She also wrote that she feels strong emotion when listening to his music.
Osawaru disabled comments on the post, restricting interaction to likes and shares.
The post came after 2Baba had separately addressed claims that he was arrested in London following an alleged disagreement with Osawaru. The couple had travelled to the United Kingdom ahead of a scheduled tour and performance. In a video posted to his page, the singer denied the arrest claim and asked followers not to repeat unverified accounts.
Separately, 2Baba reposted a video on his Instagram Story showing his daughters, Isabella and Olivia, whom he had with his former wife, actress Annie Idibia, now known as Annie Macaulay. The video, first shared by Annie Macaulay, showed the two girls singing in what appeared to be a bedroom.
The clip drew attention online for the girls’ singing voices, with several commenters noting a resemblance to their father’s musical ability. One user wrote: “2Baba gene too strong ooo.”
2Baba did not add a caption of his own beyond resharing the video.
The repost follows other recent acknowledgements by the singer of milestones involving children from his previous relationships, including his son Justin’s high school graduation and his son Zion’s birthday.
