Nasarawa Govt to Begin Construction Two Flyovers in Mararaba to Ease Traffic

The Nasarawa State Government has secured Federal Government approval to construct two flyovers in Mararaba as part of efforts to end the chronic traffic congestion along the busy Karu–Mararaba axis.

Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Agency (NUDA), Wada Muhammed, disclosed this on Thursday in Lafia, revealing that Minister of Works, Sen. Dave Umahi, granted the approval following a request by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

“By the grace of God, Gov. Sule has secured approval… to construct two flyovers in Mararaba. These flyovers will end persistent traffic congestion and ease movement for residents, motorists and travellers,” Muhammed said.

He noted that construction would begin soon and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Muhammed added that the Sule administration continues to spread development projects across the state, with at least two major projects ongoing or completed in every local government area.

On the Keffi flyover project, he said construction is progressing and could be completed ahead of schedule, despite an earlier delay caused by the need to redesign the structure to avoid damaging a major water pipeline running beneath the site.

He also disclosed that the Lafia flyover and underpass are undergoing temporary diversions to allow for an extra asphalt layer to improve durability.

The NUDA boss appealed for patience and cooperation from motorists as the government intensifies efforts to upgrade road infrastructure across the state, urging residents to continue supporting Governor Sule’s development agenda.
