Nasarawa Govt Begins ₦39bn Mararaba Twin Flyovers Construction, Promises Uncrossable Highway

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says the construction of the ₦39 billion Mararaba twin flyovers will deliver a high-speed, uninterrupted highway that prevents pedestrian crossings and eases one of the nation’s busiest corridors.

Speaking at the project’s flag-off ceremony on Friday, December 5, the governor explained that earlier delays were unavoidable due to funding constraints and the fact that the corridor is a federal highway.

“There are reasons for the delay. This is a federal highway, not a state highway. Secondly, we didn’t have the resources then to do many of these things at the same time,” he said.

Governor Sule revealed that the project includes two flyovers and two major roundabouts, one at Abacha Road and another at the Technology Village junction in Mararaba Gurku.

Sule added that the most transformative feature is a secure, elevated high-speed corridor stretching from the Nasarawa boundary to the International Market.

“The most important aspect is what we call a high highway… from the beginning of Nasarawa State till the international market, you will be on a highway that nobody can cross,” he said.
