The Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 3 Division Chapter, Mrs. Fibishola Abubakar, praised the Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe, for his support to the 33 Brigade NAOWA, the Nigerian Army Soldiers Wives Association (NASWA), and the widows of fallen soldiers at Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi, on Friday.
During her recent familiarization visit to Shadawanka Barracks, Mrs. Abubakar explained that the purpose of her visit was to strengthen relationships and discuss collaboration opportunities with members of NAOWA, NASWA, and the widows in the Barracks.
She commended the Commander for his various supports and interventions for the women, especially in Shadawanka Barracks.
She encouraged the women to continue aligning with the vision of NAOWA President, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, which focuses on “Sustaining Legacy Through Unwavering Commitment to Unity and Service to Humanity.”
While hosting Mrs. Abubakar at the 33 Artillery Brigade Conference Room, Brigadier General Egbe pledged continued support for NAOWA, NASWA, and the widows in the Barracks.
He emphasized that the spouses of officers and soldiers provide essential support as their husbands dedicate their time to ensuring the nation’s peace and security.
His efforts, he noted, align with the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy of sound administration, particularly regarding troop welfare and the home front.
He further stated that his actions follow the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General AE Abubakar, to maintain a peaceful home front, allowing officers and soldiers to focus on their duties.
He urged the women to continue supporting their husbands to maintain their mental stability, even while on the front lines.
Mrs. Victoria Akila, the NAOWA Acting Coordinator for the 33 Brigade, also praised the NAOWA President, Mrs. Mariya Abiodun Lagbaja, and Mrs. Fibishola Abubakar for their commitment to promoting NAOWA and NASWA programs.
She highlighted the association’s impact on the lives of widows and orphans within and outside the Barracks community.
She expressed gratitude to Brigadier General Egbe, describing him as the “rock behind the success of all our activities” and noting his financial support, provision of furniture and computers to NAOWA schools, and his attentiveness to their needs.
The visit included a courtesy call on the Commander of the 33 Artillery Brigade, the presentation of souvenirs, a tour of NAOWA schools, and an address to members of NAOWA, NASWA, and the widows, among other activities.
