The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and Zenith Bank Plc are set to deepen their strategic partnership, with a renewed focus on improving personnel welfare, strengthening financial services and supporting the operational readiness of the Service.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, disclosed this on September 1, 2026, when he received the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank Plc, Dame Dr Adaora Umeoji, and her delegation on a courtesy visit to the NAF Headquarters in Abuja.
Air Marshal Aneke said the development of a motivated, professional and combat-ready Air Force goes beyond the acquisition of modern platforms and rigorous training, stressing the importance of strong welfare and financial support systems for personnel.
He identified opportunities for expanded collaboration between the NAF and Zenith Bank in areas such as customised salary management, personal loans, affordable mortgages and other financial services aimed at improving the financial wellbeing and security of Air Force personnel.
The Chief of the Air Staff also highlighted the potential for Zenith Bank to support the Chief of the Air Staff Youth Empowerment Programme (CASYEP), as part of efforts to empower personnel and enhance their overall wellbeing.
Earlier, Dame Umeoji congratulated Air Marshal Aneke on his appointment as the 23rd Chief of the Air Staff and commended the progress recorded under his leadership.
She expressed Zenith Bank’s readiness to strengthen its existing relationship with the Nigerian Air Force and explore additional areas of strategic collaboration.
The partnership is expected to deliver greater value to NAF personnel by promoting financial security, improving welfare, and supporting initiatives that enhance their quality of life.
The NAF said the strengthened collaboration would further contribute to building a motivated and resilient force capable of carrying out its mandate with professionalism, dedication and operational effectiveness in defence of Nigeria.
