My starting line up against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final is 99% on my head—Pochettino

During his pre-match conference ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino provided updates on player availability and absences.

He mentioned the need to assess a few players to determine their readiness for Sunday’s game and highlighted Thiago as a potential inclusion pending evaluation tomorrow.

‘We need to assess a few players still to see if they can be involved on Sunday,’ said Pochettino. ‘We will know tomorrow if we can recover some players from injury.

‘Thiago has a chance, tomorrow we will see if he is ready to be involved in the game.

Pochettino stated that while his starting lineup is 99% decided in his mind, he hasn’t informed the players yet due to unforeseen circumstances. He emphasized the importance of waiting until tomorrow or even later before making final decisions.

‘I have decided who will be the goalkeeper. 99 percent of my team is in my head. I have not told the players yet because always, anything can happen. So I prefer to wait until tomorrow, or maybe after tomorrow.’

Pochettino, who previously led Tottenham Hotspur to a final at Wembley, will guide Chelsea in Sunday’s final against the Premier League leaders, Liverpool, recalling their previous encounters in FA and Carabao Cup finals.
