Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has appointed retired Maj.-Gen. Bala Isandu as his new Special Adviser on Security in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Samuel Jatau.
Isandu takes over from retired Brig.-Gen. Gakji Shipi, who has been redeployed as the Coordinator of the Safe School Initiative in the state.
The governor also approved the appointment of Brig.-Gen. Nash Yakubu as the new Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, the state’s security outfit.
Congratulating the appointees, Mutfwang urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity and professionalism and to leverage their vast military experience to tackle the security challenges facing Plateau State.
