Mutfwang Orders Shoot-on-Sight for Farmland Destroyers After Deadly Plateau Attacks

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has ordered security agencies to shoot on sight anyone caught destroying farmlands in the state, following fresh attacks that left several people dead in Barkin Ladi.

Speaking during a town hall meeting in Barkin Ladi, the governor also condemned the harbouring of terrorists within communities and described cattle rustling as a “foolish” act capable of worsening the security crisis.

Mutfwang urged traditional and community leaders to urgently return to the old culture of peacefully resolving disputes before they escalate into violence, warning against individuals taking the law into their own hands.

The governor stressed that residents must work collectively to protect their communities instead of shielding criminal elements responsible for repeated attacks across the state.

Also speaking, the paramount ruler of Barkin Ladi, Edward Bot, called for increased deployment of security personnel to flashpoints and terrorist hideouts, saying the situation in parts of his domain had become unbearable.
