Musasizi, the serial killer in Uganda, has been sentenced to 105 years in prison

—

In the city of Kampala, Uganda, the High Court has given a 25-year-old man named Musa Musasizi a punishment of 105 years behind bars.

This severe sentence comes as a result of Musasizi’s dreadful actions, where he took the lives of three women and a three-month-old baby.

Shockingly, these victims were not only connected by tragedy but were identified as his girlfriends, with the infant being the child of one of the unfortunate women.

Musasizi, who admitted to his crimes, engaged in romantic relationships with these women but then subjected them to sexual assault and ultimately ended their lives.

The horror didn’t stop there, as he went on to burn and dispose of their bodies, leaving behind a disturbing trail of events.

Justice Margaret Mutonyi, delivering the sentence, emphasized the seriousness of Musasizi’s actions.

She stressed the need for such a long sentence to protect not only other young women but also Musasizi’s own six-year-old daughter, as reported by NTV, a privately owned channel.

This case unfolded after Musasizi was arrested in March 2021 on suspicion of killing five women and an infant.

While he was convicted in July for one of the murders, his lawyer sought leniency during the trial, pointing to his challenging upbringing as a former street child.

The decision from the High Court is a crucial step toward justice, sending a strong message about the severity of crimes against women and children in Uganda.

This lengthy sentence aims to safeguard the vulnerable and discourage potential offenders, marking a significant moment in the pursuit of a safer society.
