Several passengers are feared dead following a tragic road accident involving a Kampala-bound Nile Star Bus and a heavy-duty truck along the Pakwach–Karuma highway in Uganda.
The fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Monday at about 1:00 am, according to preliminary reports. The ill-fated bus was travelling from Arua City to Kampala when it collided head-on with the truck under circumstances that are yet to be fully established.
Eyewitnesses described the impact as devastating, raising fears of multiple casualties.
However, authorities have yet to confirm the exact number of fatalities as rescue operations continue at the scene.
Several injured passengers have been evacuated and rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. Emergency responders, including police and local volunteers, are working to clear the wreckage and assist victims.
