Motorcyclist Strips Naked in Protest After FRSC Seizes Bike in Kwara State, Accusing Officials of Extortion

Motorcyclist Strips in Protest After FRSC Seizes Bike in Kwara State, Alleging Extortion

A dramatic incident unfolded in Kwara State, Nigeria, where a motorcyclist was seen stripping himself in protest after personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) seized his motorcycle on Wednesday morning.

In the video, the motorcyclist, visibly distraught, accused the FRSC officials of attempting to extort money from him before impounding his motorcycle when he refused to comply.

His frustration and desperation were palpable as he explained that losing his bike would leave him with no means of providing for his family.

“There is nothing that can’t happen. You don’t know what I am going through but you seized my Okada (motorcycle). I have been working since morning but I could not even eat,” the man lamented bitterly, emphasizing his dire financial situation.

As his protest continued, passersby gathered around the scene, sympathizing with the motorcyclist and expressing their displeasure with the FRSC officers.

Many of them voiced their frustration, accusing the officers of being insensitive to the challenges faced by ordinary Nigerians, especially amid the ongoing economic hardships.

One of the bystanders firmly stood by the motorcyclist, saying, “We will get his bike back to him. You will give it back to him. This is how you have been cheating poor Nigerians. What do you want to collect from him to make you seize his motorcycle? How much did you want to collect from him to warrant seizing his motorcycle? If you collected the bike from him, how did you want him to be taking care of his family?”

The tension escalated as others in the crowd also condemned the actions of the FRSC officials, accusing them of extorting money from struggling citizens.

Another bystander added, “You are a thief. Despite all the current economic hardships Nigerians are currently facing, Tinubu is dealing with us and you too (FRSC) are also extorting us. It is unfair.”

The incident highlights the growing frustration among Nigerians who feel burdened by economic hardship and what they see as the unfair practices of law enforcement agencies.

The FRSC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
