Moises Caicedo – It was impossible to say no to Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has revealed why Chelsea was his only considered club when determining his next career path during the summer transfer window. Moises Caicedo joined Chelsea in August after the Ecuadorian had rejected offers from Liverpool and major clubs.

The Ecuador international made the switch from Brighton & Hove Albion to Chelsea in August, when the Blues got him in the hope that he’s the perfect option to bolster the midfield. Liverpool made a mega late bid for the Ecuadorian after most of their midfielders left the club last summer. Caicedo rejected the offer as he confirmed there was never any chance of him playing his football anywhere but Stamford Bridge this season.

‘I was talking with Chelsea for a long time,’ explained Caicedo. ‘It was impossible to say no to Chelsea because they were with me, supporting me.

‘In the summer I suffered a lot because it was complicated to leave Brighton. Chelsea was with me, and at the last moment Liverpool called me, but it was too late because I wanted to play for Chelsea. It was tough to say no to Chelsea.’ During Liverpool’s midfield revamping, they also approached Roméo Lavia from Southampton last summer, Lavia followed in the footsteps of Caicedo to reject Liverpool for Chelsea.
